Charles C. Claunch earned his law degree from The University of Texas (J.D., 1998).  Mr. Claunch holds a master's degree in intellectual property law from the University of London (LL.M., 1997).  He earned undergraduate degrees in physics and electrical engineering from Rice University (B.A. (physics), 1984; B.S.E.E., 1985).

Mr. Claunch served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 to 1994.  He supervised technical, budget, and schedule performance for a variety of space systems contracts at Space Systems Division, Los Angeles AFB (now Space and Missile Systems Center, U.S. Space Force), and at Secretary of the Air Force, Office of Special Projects, El Segundo, California.  He also served as a staff officer in the Commander's Action Group, Space Systems Division.

From 2010 to 2019, Mr. Claunch taught government courses at a number of DFW-area community colleges as an adjunct professor, including Richland College (Dallas County Community College District) and Tarrant County College in Fort Worth.  He taught three sections of "Principles of American Politics," the politics course in the liberal arts core curriculum at the University of Dallas, Irving, Texas as an adjunct instructor.

Before coming to Chalker Flores, LLP, Mr. Claunch practiced intellectual property litigation with the Austin, Texas, office of Conley Rose, P.C. He practiced patent preparation and prosecution with the Austin office of Skjerven Morrill MacPherson LLP; Greer, Burns & Crain, Ltd. of Chicago, Illinois; and Chowdhury & Georgakis, P.C. of Houston and Austin. He has also worked as a solo attorney, practicing patent preparation and prosecution and copyright litigation.
