Scott A. Meyer earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University, J.D. (1999), and holds his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Southern Methodist University, B. A. (1992). Mr. Meyer has extensive civil litigation, business and corporate experience in a wide variety of commercial matters. Such litigation matters include federal and state court proceedings as well as alternative dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration. Business and corporate matters include a broad spectrum of services from entity formation, mergers and aquisitions, intellectual property licensing, aquisitions and sales,  and other exit strategies.  His clients include businesses in many different industries including entertainment, sports, technology, software, retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, biotech, publishing, and finance.  He has represented and provided intellectual property counsel to start-ups, universities, small and large privately-held entities, public companies, trusts, and non-profit organizations.

Training

Prior to joining Chalker Flores, LLP, Mr. Meyer began his legal career as an associate with Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox, LLP, at the time a large regional Dallas-based law firm.  Mr. Meyer moved with a practice group to Sewell & Anderson, LLP, where he became a partner on January 1, 2005.  Via merger the firm became Madden Sewell, LLP.  Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Meyer worked in corporate America for two Fortune 500 companies.
