Tom Jacks is an experienced trial lawyer, representing clients in a broad array of matters related to intellectual property and business litigation.  He has represented and provided pre-litigation counsel to individuals, start-ups, universities, small and large privately-held entities and public companies.   

Tom has extensive experience litigating intellectual property matters involving patents, trademarks and copyrights in state and federal courts and before the United States Trademark and Trial Appeal Board (TTAB).  His practice also includes counseling clients in business transactions that involve intellectual property rights, including licensing agreements, material distribution agreements, non-competition agreements and non-disclosure agreements.

He also has broad experience in commercial litigation matters involving business torts, contract disputes, collections, misappropriation, and unfair competition.   

His past practice experience includes prosecuting and defending general liability actions related to construction, farm, motor vehicle, premises liability and product liability claims.   

Tom is an AV® Rated Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell® and a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star in Intellectual Property Litigation. 

He is licensed to practice in Colorado, Mississippi and Texas.

Background 

Tom earned his law degree from the University of Denver in 2005. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi in 2000. Tom also studied at the Central American Institute for International Affairs in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Tom practiced in Mississippi prior to joining Chalker Flores, LLP. Before becoming a lawyer, he served as a baseball coach at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado and then as an assistant baseball coach for Delta State University.
